Weather conditions cause delays to traffic
18.1.2024 - Severe snowfalls and icy roads have been affecting several European countries in the past few days, causing delays to transportation. Traffic disruptions have been reported e.g. in Germany, France, Belgium, Estonia and the Nordic countries. In France, driving bans for heavy vehicles have been put into force in a number of departments. After the snowfalls stop, it will take some time to clear the roads and the transport backlog.
Challenging weather conditions are currently causing delays to pickups and deliveries also in Finland. Some of the vesseld to Finland are also behind their schedules. As a whole, weather conditions are causing delays to road freight transports both in import and in export.

UK: Cancelled sailing causes delays to road freight export
10.1.2024 Prolonged maintenance forces Finnlines to cancel the scheduled sailing from Helsinki to Hull on Thursday January 11, and to roll all cargo to the following week. Due to this, demand may exceed available space on board on the next sailing, planned for January 18. Thus, the impact of the cancellation may extend to the following week as well.
